Officially opened on April 8th, 1999, it is a rather early-founded multi-functional art museum in universities in Shanghai and even the whole country. The 1947 alumnus Jiang Zemin wrote the name for "Cheng Ji Art Museum". The Cheng Ji Art Museum covers an area of 1,200 square meters, with two exhibition halls, art studios, multi-functional classrooms, VIP reception rooms, cafes and other spaces. Since the opening of the museum, dozens of art exhibitions have been held, creating a friendly environment and atmosphere for cultivating the aesthetic quality of teachers and students and promoting cultural and artistic exchanges. At the same time, the museum launched a series of activities such as "Art Class in Art Museum" and DIY workshops for parents and children, and shouldered the mission and responsibility of promoting social aesthetic education. In the future, Cheng Ji Art Museum will adhere to the concept of "cultivating a sense of beauty and building morality through aesthetic education", and grow to be an important classroom for aesthetic education in Shanghai Jiao Tong University, a main window for showing the achievements of teachers and students, and an artistic platform for diversified public education activities.
