The Doox of Yale — A Cappella Ensemble of Yale University

The Doox of Yale is a premier undergraduate a cappella ensemble from Yale University. Founded in 1952, the group has become a benchmark in the global a cappella community, renowned for its timeless repertoire, vibrant stage presence, and heartfelt performances. For over 73 years, the Doox have remained devoted to the purity and passion of unaccompanied vocal music.

As a musical emblem of the Ivy League campus, the members of the Doox embody both intellectual brilliance and artistic passion. They come from diverse academic fields—including economics, international affairs, computer science, and literature—yet are united by their shared love for music. Their performances carry both the subtlety of academic reflection and the vibrant spirit of youth. Without formal professional music training, it is precisely this genuine passion that gives their performances such compelling authenticity, while their vocal harmonies reflect remarkable chemistry, warmth, and unity.

Over 73 years of touring has borne witness to the group’s global influence. From the dignified stage of the White House in Washington, D.C., to vibrant performances at iconic venues in Hollywood, California, and appearances on international stages such as Tokyo, the Doox have shared their music with audiences around the world. Now, as they arrive in Shanghai, they continue to build emotional bridges across cultures through the power of unaccompanied human voices, allowing warmth and beauty to resonate across different cultural contexts.

This performance marks a musical invitation that has traveled across the ocean, bringing Ivy League a cappella into a meaningful encounter with audiences in China. It promises to be an experience worth anticipating for every listener who appreciates the beauty of pure human voices.
