Recently, Professor Fei Qi from School of Mechanical Engineering was appointed as the Editor-in-Chief of Proceedings of the Combustion Institute (ProCI), a leading journal of combustion research. As the official publication of The Combustion Institute, ProCI is dedicated to publishing top-level research articles in the field of combustion science and technology.

 

Short Biography of Professor Fei Qi:

Professor Fei Qi is a Chair professor in the Institute of Aerospace Propulsion at School of Mechanical Engineering, and is a Fellow of the American Physical Society (APS) and a Fellow of The Combustion Institute. His research has been focused on combustion diagnostics, combustion reaction kinetics, and combustion instability. So far, he has published over 350 peer-reviewed papers in top-tier journals such as Science, Combustion and Flame, and Proceedings of the Combustion Institute. He has led a number of key national research projects, including the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) for Distinguished Young Scholars and the NSFC Major Research Instrumentation Project (ministry-recommended). He has delivered dozens of plenary and invited lectures in academic conferences; in particular, he was the first Chinese scholar to deliver a plenary lecture at the International Symposium on Combustion. He has served as Program Chair of the 38th International Combustion Symposium, Founding Editor-in-Chief of Applications in Energy and Combustion Science, and Editorial Board Member of Progress in Energy and Combustion Science. His accolades include the Second Prize of the National Natural Science Award, the Humboldt Research Award (Germany), the Chinese Academy of Science's Hundred Talents, and the Shanghai Outstanding Academic Leader in Science and Technology, among others.
