On November 1st, the Shanghai Advanced Institute of Finance (SAIF) at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) hosted a distinguished Indonesian medical delegation led by Dr. Daniel Rumadio Waldodi, Director of the Indonesian Ministry of Defense Rehabilitation Center. SJTU Vice President Liu Weidong and SAIF Executive Dean Cheng Shijun welcomed the delegation, alongside representatives from leading Chinese healthcare enterprises and investment institutions.
The visit, centered on strengthening bilateral healthcare cooperation, featured a closed-door seminar where Indonesian delegates engaged with prominent Chinese healthcare organizations including Shanghai Pharma, Fosun Pharma, and Yunnan Baiyao. Professor Hu Jie, Executive Director of SAIF Southeast Asia Center, facilitated discussions on medical services, technology, management, and investment opportunities.
The delegation also toured five Shanghai medical institutions, examining China's advances in digital medicine, telemedicine, and healthcare management. They expressed particular interest in China's digital transformation and intelligent medical systems as models for Indonesia's medical reform initiatives.
This exchange aligns with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's emphasis on medical development through international collaboration. SAIF, through its Southeast Asia Center—the institution's first overseas operation—continues to facilitate such partnerships, leveraging its expertise in finance and management to advance global healthcare development.
The Southeast Asia Center serves as SAIF's strategic platform for international education, research collaboration, and talent development, supporting both SJTU and SAIF's global expansion while strengthening China-Indonesia relations in the healthcare sector.
