On June 24th, School of Mechanical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) held the opening ceremony for the 2nd SJTU-Georgia Tech Joint Summer Program (the 2nd program). With 20 Georgia Tech undergraduates, 14 SJTU undergraduates, and faculty from two sides in attendance, the opening ceremony celebrated the restarting of the 2nd program after the pandemic.
The 2nd program is organized by the School of Mechanical Engineering (the School) at SJTU from June 22nd to August 1st, 2024. It’s jointly English-taught by renowned professors of SJTU, Georgia Tech, and the National University of Singapore (NUS), with a hybrid class of students from China, U.S., and Singapore. Credits are mutually recognized. Tuition fees are waived.
During the 2nd program, the School has arranged diverse extracurricular activities, including tours of tech firm born out of the School's research and development achievements and activities to experience Chinese traditional dragon boat racing. Hope SJTU students will hone their interdisciplinary communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills, and international students will get a deeper understanding of the history and development of Shanghai Jiao Tong University and China.
