The 21st China Ecology Congress sponsored by the Ecological Society of China and organized by Guizhou Science and Technology Association, was successfully held in Guiyang, Guizhou from August 26 to 29, 2022. The theme of this year is “New Mission of Ecological Science: Carbon Neutralization and Ecological Construction”. There are 50 special sessions, an academic symposium and 15 postgraduate forums. 665 scholars and more than 570 graduate students from all over the country contributed to this event.

Faculties from Shanghai Jiao Tong School of Design, Professor LI Junxiang, Professor CAI Yongli, Professor CHEN Ruishan, Associate Professor DU Hongmei, Assistant Professor ZHANG Liqing, postdoctoral candidate Wu Caiyan and students from Landscape Architecture Department attended the event and delivered academic reports, introduced their recent research achievements. Professor LI Junxiang and Professor CAI Yongli took the lead in organizing the special sessions of “Ecological Environment Effect of Urban Pattern Evolution” and “Digital Transformation of Resilient Urban Construction and Ecological Management”.

 

Bi Xing and Wu Jiong, graduate students from School of Design, delivered oral reports at the postgraduate forum entitled “Differences in the Impact of Heat Waves on Population Mortality in Extremely High Temperature Years” and “Research on the Spatial and Temporal Evolution and Landscape Pattern Response Characteristics of Pearl River Delta Urban Agglomerations” respectively, presented relevant research results, and conducted academic exchanges and discussions with fellow graduate students across the country. Bi Xing was awarded the Excellent Report Award by the Ecological Society of China.
