On March 30, 2017, headed by President Professor Sir Keith Burnett, delegates from University of Sheffield visited SJTU. Huang Zhen, Vice President of SJTU, met the delegation and signed the Student Exchange Contract between SJTU and The University of Sheffield with President Sir Keith Burnett on Xuhui campus.

Huang Zhen introduced SJTU's hundred year's history and the development of international cooperation of SJTU in recent years to the delegation. Huang Zhen pointed out that we shared great potential in cooperation of subjects in giant airplanes, auto engineering, nuclear science engineering, and these overlapping would lead to further collaboration between two universities.

President Burnett expressed his gratefulness and gave an introduction about the University of Sheffield. He said that Sheffield is eager to have further collaboration with SJTU, and SJTU's faculty and students would be warmly welcomed as visiting scholars and students. Burnett also showed his interest to SJTU's summer courses and also, he would actively promote Sheffield students' interest to study in SJTU.

Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Communication, School of Humanities and School of Mechanical Engineering attended the meeting.
