Living in this complex and changing era and in the face of geopolitical evolution, global epidemics, climate change, resource shortages, economic downturns and other crises, we need to raise our spirits as individuals and as a collective alike to meet the challenges brought by the times. From the spoons we use in our daily lives, to the car used for transportation to an office building, how can design use “products” to improve the spirit of individuals and groups (such as enterprises and institutions)? It would be discussed aiming to “justified” the concept and thinking method of “design” through stories about design in Chinese and Western cultures, explaining that there is no option but to design, as it encapsulates both livelihood and rhetorical mastery. Design is not only closely related to life, it is life itself!
