SJTU Alumnus Zhu Yingfu Elected CAE Member

Chinese Academy of Engineering announced the new CAE member list 2011 on December 8. Zhu Yingfu, SJTU Alumnus and research fellow of the 701st Research Institute of China Shipbuilding Heavy Industry Corporation (CSIC) was elected CAE member.

Zhu Yingfu, expert in ship engineering, researcher and PhD supervisor, was born in Shanghai, July 1941. He is native of Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. Zhu received his Bachelor Degree in Naval Architectures from Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 1963 and Master Degree from SJTU in 1966. He has been working at the 701st Research Institute since graduation. As a visiting scholar at University of California, Berkeley from 1982 to 1984, he was engaged in the ship hydrodynamics research. He is the recipient of National Science and Technology Progress Awards (first class and second class), Science and Technology Progress Award of National Defense (special class and second class), four provincial and ministry-level S&T Progress Awards. He was State Council Expert for Special Allowance in 1995 and Young and Middle-aged Experts with outstanding contributions in 1997, and national outstanding professional and technical personnel in 2002, etc.
