Journal of SJTU Publishes Special Issue on Medical 3D Printing and Personalized Medicine

Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Science), founded in 1996, is an innovative, fundamental and scientific journal that publishes the latest research findings and serves as an international platform facilitating the academic exchange among experts, scholars and researchers all over the world. Recently, Journal of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Science) and Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital Affiliated to SJTU School of Medicine jointly published a special issue on Medical 3D Printing and Personalized Medicine as a significant attempt in exploring the development of medical and engineering journals.

The special issue mainly published the findings of several research teams, notably the team led by Prof. Dai Kerong, an expert in orthopedics and orthopedic biomechanics of Shanghai Ninth People's Hospital, as well as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and a doctoral supervisor.

The issue gives a comprehensive description on the application of 3D printing technology in medical, education and scientific scenarios. With elaborate clinical cases of 3D printing in clinical medicine and personalized dentistry treatment, this issue will prompt doctors and engineers to use 3D printing wisely in daily practice and promote its clinical application and the development of personalized system. In addition, the special issue also presents interdisciplinary research on medicine and engineering, including image processing, material properties and biomechanics.
