He Xing Honored with IEEE PCCC Outstanding Young Engineer Award

Recently, Power and Energy Society China Chapter Council (PCCC) of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) announced its 2020 Awards. He Xing, an associate researcher from the Department of Electrical Engineering, School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, won the Outstanding Young Engineer Award. Only 4 people nationwide received the honor, which is given to IEEE PES China members under the age of 35 who have made major contributions to the power and energy industry.

He Xing was the first to introduce the Random Matrix Theory (RMT) for application in power systems, building a set of analytical frameworks and providing relevant modelling and analysis tools and methods to extract spatiotemporal correlation, the important statistical information of power spatiotemporal big data.

He Xing is an Associate Researcher at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, an IEEE Senior Member and the Chair of the Digital Twin Working Group. His main research interests are in the application of data science in energy systems. He is currently the principal investigator of one National Natural Science Foundation of China youth project, and participating in several national key projects and provincial and ministerial projects. He has published one ESI highly-cited paper and two academic monographs.

Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) is currently the world's largest non-profit technical professional society. Power and Energy Society (PES) is the second largest society of IEEE, while IEEE PES China Chapter Council (IEEE PCCC) is the organization representing its highest authority in China. The IEEE PCCC Outstanding Young Engineer Award was established to recognize engineers 35 years of age or under for outstanding contributions in power & energy engineering.
