The 12th France China Particle Physics Laboratory Workshop Held in SJTU

The 12th France China Particle Physics Laboratory Workshop was held at Xuhui Campus, SJTU from April 24-27, 2019. The workshop, sponsored by the School of Physics and Astronomy, SJTU and the Tsung Dao Lee Institute, attracted nearly 150 experts and scholars from over 20 research institutes in China and France.

The workshop was jointly launched and hosted by Chen gang, Researcher of the Institute of High Energy Physics Chinese Academy of Sciences, Eric Kajfasz, Professor of the Center for High Energy Physics Research at the University of Marseille in France, and Yang Haijun, Professor of the School of Physics and Astronomy, SJTU and part-time researcher of the Tsung Dao Lee Institute. CAS Academician Jing Yipeng, Dean of the School of Physics and Astronomy, SJTU and senior scholar of the Tsung Dao Lee Institute, delivered the welcome speech.

The aim of the France China Particle Physics Laboratory (FCPPL) is to promote the cooperation and exchanges between Chinese and French scientists in the field of particle physics, such as conducting joint scientific experimental research based on the large particle collider (LHC) of the European Organization for Nuclear Research(CERN) and regularly exchanging scientists, postdoctoral and doctoral researchers.

The workshop deeply reviewed and summarized the progress of cooperation between China and France in the past year. An executive committee meeting was held during the workshop where an formal admission of the Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) into the FCPPL and a re-signing of the cooperation framework and plan of FCPPL in the next four years were discussed respectively.
