Technical Tie-up Formed between ME and CHRDI

On December 14, 2011, China Helicopter Research and Development Institute (CHRDI) co-held with SJTU the signing ceremony of technical cooperation on Retarder Test Stand for Helicopter Transmission System in Meeting Room F210 of the School of Mechanical Engineering (ME).

Qiu Guangrong, Head of CHRDI, pointed out that the cooperation agreement not only marked the beginning of the long-term and all-round strategic cooperation, but also laid solid foundation for future university-company cooperation. He hoped that the platform could be fully used to explore a new mode on cooperation and innovation of production, learning and research, make innovation in institutions and mechanisms, and resource sharing, and promote faster and better development of helicopter retarder industry.

SJTU Deputy President Academician Lin Zhongqoin appreciated CHRDI's acknowledgement and evaluation of SJTU. He said that both parties should think about how to conduct deeper cooperation and hoped that the cooperation with CHRDI would play a positive role in exploring better mode of school-company cooperation in major industries.

CHRDI is the sole comprehensive design authority for Chinese indigenous helicopter programs. It is hailed as "the cradle of China Helicopter" and "the R&D center for China Helicopter." CHRDI's visit to SJTU and signing of agreement has further implemented its cooperation with SJTU.
