SJTU’s Team Won Person search in ECCV 2018 WIDER Face & Pedestrian Competition

On Sept. 8, 2018, the European Conference on Computer Vision (ECCV2018) was held in Munich, Germany. Supervised by Teacher Yang Hua, students of Professor Zhang Wenjun's Team from the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering, SJTU took the crown of the Person Search track in the ECCV2018. Yang Hua, a member of Prof. Zhang's team, is also an associate researcher at the Institute of Image Communication and Network Engineering, SJTU.

Li Liangqi, Xu Qiling and Hong Yuan, postgraduates from Prof. Zhang's team won the first place in the Wider Person Search Competition under the supervision of Yang Hua. Based on the existing research results of their lab, they worked together and came up with a cascading networking structure and an optimal Reranking program. On the afternoon of Sept. 8th (Munich Time), the SJTU team attended the Workshop of the competition where their program was reported and the awarding ceremony was held. The team, as the winner, also gained $2,400 as cash bonus as well as Amazon's AWS credits scores worth $10,000.
