[SJTU Wisdom] SJTU Research Group Made Breakthroughs in Stem Cell Self-Renewal

On November 1st, the world-famous academic journal The Journal of Clinical Investigation published online the latest research results titled "Sorting protein VPS33B regulates exosomal autocrinesignaling to mediate hematopoiesis and leukemogenesis", which was achieved by Zheng Junke Research Group of Key Laboratory of Apoptosis and Cell Differentiation, Ministry of Education at Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine. For the first time, the research demonstrated that the stem-relating secretory proteins could regulate the self-renewal capacity of hematopoietic stem cells and leukemia stem cells through autocrine signaling.

This research was conducted by the joint effort of Zheng Junke Research Group at the School of Basic Medicine and the Research Group to which Chen Guoqiang and Liu Junling belong, who are two other co-corresponding authors. The first author Gu Hao is also a doctoral candidate of Professor Chen Guoqiang at Chinese Academy of Science of Health. This research was supported enormously by the Thousand Talents Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China for The Excellent Youth Scholars, National Natural Science Foundation of China for Distinguished Youth Scholars, Ministry of Science and Technology 973 Project, etc.
