SJTU Published Research Findings of Merallic Glass on Nature Supplement

May 10, 2016      Author: Chen Bin

Recently, the team of cutting-edge material structure researching of the School of Material Science and Engineering at SJTU has achieved major progress in the field of metallic glass b-relaxation mechanism. Under the leadership of Prof. Chen Weimin, Dr. Zhu Fan and Dr. Song Shuangxi and other colleagues have made success in proving the structure origin of metallic glass b-relaxation. The experimenting result, with the title “Intrinsic correlation between b-relaxation and spatial heterogeneity in a metallic glass”, has been published on the May 9 issue of the Nature Communications, which is the supplement of the Nature. This research has deepen understanding in amorphous system dynamics behavior, also has offered prominent inspiration to key scientific issues including glass transition, amorphous deformation mechanism. The research is supported by Ministry of Science and Technology 973 Frontier Project, National Natural Science Foundation of amorphous and Major Equipment Project.
