SJTU Projects Won China’s Top Intelligent Science and Technology Award

Recently, Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI) released the winners list of the 10th Wu Wen Jun Artificial Intelligence Science and Technology Award in 2020.

Two projects by SJTU teams won the first prize of Natural Science Award, which are “Basic Characteristics, Basic Algorithms and Open Datasets of Emotional Brain-Computer Interface” by Prof. Lv Baoliang’s team and “Deep Structured Modeling Theory and Method of Robust Speech Signal Pattern Analysis and Recognition” by Assoc. Prof. Qian Yanmin’s team, both from the School of Electronic Information and Electrical Engineering (EIEE), SJTU.

The project “Key Technologies and Applications of Semantic-Driven Video Intelligent Analysis and Adaptive Transmission” by Prof. Lin Weiyao’s team from EIEE, SJTU won the second prize of AI Science & Technology Advancement Award. Prof. Liu Chengliang’s team from the School of Mechanical Engineering won the second prize as well.

Meanwhile, EIEE Associate Professor Yan Junchi was honored “Outstanding Youth Award of Artificial Intelligence”.

Wu Wen Jun AI Science & Technology Award, known as “the top award of intelligent science and technology in China”, is sponsored by CAAI and named after Wu Wenjun, the pioneer and leader of intelligent science research in China and the winner of the first State Science and Technology Top Prizes. The Award was established under the approval of the Ministry of Science and Technology, PRC. Winners of this award can be nominated for the State Science and Technology Top Prizes.
