SJTU Prof. Feng Xinliang Won Hamburg Science Award

Due to outstanding contribution to the field of graphene research, Professor Feng Xinjiang, Chair Professor at Dresden University of Technology in Germany and Visiting Professor at SJTU, and Klaus Müllen, German scientist are awarded the Hamburg Science Award 2017.

 

The Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg thinks that their research has deepened peoples knowledge about graphene. In addition, their application-oriented research can help develop batteries and supercapacitors with a high energy density, short charging time, and long-term stability.

 Hamburg Science Award was founded by The Academy of Sciences and Humanities in Hamburg in 2009. This biennial award aims to reward high level research which is important to application in society. In 2017, the topic for the award is improving the energy-efficiency. There were 10 projects competing for the award.
