Recently, a research group in Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) made a great breakthrough in the research on large-area perovskite solar cells.

They obtained an energy conversion efficiency of 12.07% on a perovskite solar panel with designated area of 36 cm2. This record was certified by the international standard test institute (Calibration, Standards and Measurement Team, Research Center for Photovoltaics (RCPV), National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST)) for the first time in the world as a perovskite PV panel. This work greatly advanced the research on low-cost solar cells for future large-scale application.
