SJTU Professor Published Paper Addressing Combating COVID-19 with Robotic Technology

April 02, 2020      Author: Gu Rui

COVID-19 has been classified as a pandemic. The increasingly closely connected economy under globalization has inevitably imposed negative impacts of the virus spread on a majority of the countries. But on the positive side, chances are that COVID-19 could propel the sustained research on robotics, geared towards lowering the risk of infectious diseases.

On March 25, 2020, Yang Guangzhong, Dean of SJTU Institute of Medical Robotics, in collaboration with 12 overseas scholars, published a review titled "Combating COVID-19-The role of robotics in managing public health and infectious diseases" in Science Robotics online, a sub-journal of Science.

Abstract

COVID-19 may drive sustained research in robotics to address risks of infectious diseases.
